Tammy Abraham open to Arsenal move
Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham is thought to be a target for Arsenal this summer.
The Gunners are looking to improve their attacking options and the 23-year-old could prove to be a quality long-term acquisition for them.
The striker has failed to hold down a regular starting berth at Chelsea since the arrival of Timo Werner and he needs to leave Stamford Bridge in search of regular game time.
According to The Athletic, the player is aware of Arsenal’s interest in him and he is willing to sign for Chelsea’s London rivals. However, the Gunners will have to pay around £40 million for his services.
The striker has recently been linked with the likes of West Ham United as well and it will be interesting to see where he ends up eventually.
Arsenal already have Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette at their disposal. Furthermore, youngsters Eddie Nketiah and Gabriel Martinelli will be pushing for a first-team berth next season as well.
It remains to be seen how Mikel Arteta manages to accommodate Abraham in his starting line-up if a deal for the Chelsea striker is completed in the coming weeks.
The striker is unlikely to move to Emirates unless he receives game-time assurances.
That said, Lacazette and Nketiah have a year left on their current deals and perhaps Arteta is planning for the future with the signing of Abraham.
